How Aksa Doğalgaz Turned Surveys Into New Forests

Aksa Doğalgaz, one of Türkiye's largest natural gas distributors, wanted its customer feedback program to give back something lasting. Instead of a simple thank-you, the company tied every completed subscriber survey to a real act of ecosystem restoration — one seed deployed by ecoDrone for every response.

The Challenge

Like many utilities, Aksa Doğalgaz relied on customer surveys to improve its service, but response rates were hard to lift and the exercise felt transactional to subscribers. The company needed a way to make participation meaningful — connecting each completed survey to a tangible, verifiable environmental benefit, without adding friction for the customer.

The Solution

ecording integrated the ecoDrone Marked model into Aksa Doğalgaz's survey program. Every completed response was linked to seed balls deployed by autonomous drones across degraded, hard-to-reach terrain. Subscribers could follow the journey of their contribution through a QR code — from planting location to germination updates — turning a few minutes of feedback into a transparent restoration story.

Seed balls, hand-produced by women in rural communities, were dispersed by ecoDrone with precision targeting. Every operation was mapped and monitored with Nature Intelligence, ensuring each survey response translated into measurable growth on the ground.

The Transformation

Over the course of the program, the partnership deployed more than 620,000 seed balls, restoring roughly 3,800 m² of land and sequestering an estimated 26 tonnes of CO₂. Beyond the numbers, the initiative gave Aksa Doğalgaz a living proof point — a way to show subscribers, partners, and regulators that its sustainability promise creates real forests, not just reports.
